Recently I read a verse that I’ve read many times before, but this time was different. It was as if it had neon lights flashing all around it, telling me not to miss this: “…that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.” (Romans 1:12)
How can your faith increase?
Have you ever thought about how much your faith is developed by those you do life with? When you surround yourself with people who trust God relentlessly and live in God’s faithfulness, you find your own growing to new levels.
This is one reason I fully believe that we are truly better together as followers of Christ. My wins are your wins. When YOU overcome a challenge through faith in Jesus, MINE faith grows. And when you’re struggling through pain that life has thrown at you, my life should encourage you to hold on all the closer to Jesus.
“When you surround yourself with people who trust God relentlessly and live in God’s faithfulness, you find your own faith growing to new levels.”
Alone is tough. Self-made is a myth. Solo success is never truly solo.
When you get to the summit of the mountain, you need to make sure you’ve got someone there to take a selfie with. And chances are, your greatest joys will come less in the summits you reach, and far more in being someone who helps others climb mountains.
We truly are BETTER TOGETHER.
I have found this to be true so many times in my own life. When I have found myself feeling discouraged and tired, I sometimes miss seeing the love and encouragement that my family and friends bring. And even more, I miss being an encouragement to them when they are needing it the most. So don’t do life alone. Surround yourself every day with people who speak life and love. And be the first to give it others.
